The weather is cool (57 degrees) and overcast, in contrast to the NYC summer heat as I explore the city on foot. I see Inca (& pre-Inca) construction mixed with medieval Spanish architecture throughout the city. In fact, many of the churches built here in the 1500's were constructed on top of existing Inca walls & buildings -- and parts of the original city are more than 1000 years old.


It's a bit rainy this first day, but plenty of museums and indoor sights.
