The next morning (Tue, Sept 4th); Another cool, misty day as I board one of the many bus trips that leave from Reykjavik for a day-tour of the 'Golden Circle' -- a loop drive featuring several notable sites just outside of the city. Booking the bus is a nice way to see the sights without having to do as much driving.


First stop is a geothermal greenhouse for growing tomatoes. These greenhouses are common here, using readily available volcanic minerals & heat to help plants grow. A small restaurant features tomato soup, tomato beer, tomato ice cream and several other options. I skip the ice cream & beer, but enjoy some fresh tomatoes before getting back on the bus.
